  10. Many of my life values were passed on to me by Dione who became a close friend for more years than any of my children can remember……. Not only to me but all three children all adored her. Her infrequent UK visits ensured much laughter, mayhem and mess in equal measure. She will be greatly missed by us all in the extended Sterry household.

  15. Dearest Doe,
So sad that you are no longer with us but your wonderful spirit remains with us all. I have always had a special place in my heart for you and you welcomed me in to the world when Mummy was too poorly to look after me. Lots of happy memories of chief “Manky Tomato” from our travels and drying tea bags on the line! Some people help to shape your life and some just pass through – you helped shape mine for sure. With much love Lu xxx

  16. Dione Wade meant so much to the team at Hardys store for well over 40 years, her fun, humour and kindness made an impact on us all,she was a personal friend to the Hardy family and many of the staff.Dione insisted she bring in her short breads and refreshments each year which were greatly appreciated. In my 50 years as a retailer I cannot recall a customer having such an impact as Dione. What a special person! Dearest sympathy to Marcus and the Wade family, she will be sadly missed Darrell Hardy

  17. It was with terrible sadness that I have learned of Dione’s passing . She was one of those truly beautiful people , generous kind and full of love and humour . We have the wonderful sheep skins she gave me as gratitude many years ago . There is in that sense a tiny piece of her happiness that lives in our home.
It’s the strangest thing for I was just thinking about her and then she left our world .
It was a privilege to have met her .

  18. I was so saddened to hear if Dione’s passing. I have very special and loving memories of a warm and generous lady, who took many of us into her brood, including her many animal friends. I remember Rupert the duck swimming in the pool with us. Her laugh was infectious and so was her zest for life. She will be missed but never forgotten and the stories will go on.
My love and thoughts are with you Jess, Heidi, Marcus and Aiden and your familes.

  23. It will be 21 years next month since Dione hosted me and my traveling companions at Mt Pleasant. So often during this time, I have stopped what I am doing and reflected with fond memories of this chapter. Dione took us in and hosted us with warmth and pleasure, serving up tremendous feasts of an evening and sharing fun stories. I know I speak for all of us, when stating that the influence this time had on all of us, couldn’t be underestimated, as we set out on exploring the world and meeting new people. Dione shared wisdom and tips and will always be remembered with smiles x

  24. I will never forget how excited I was as a boy everytime the road turned to gravel as the car made its way up Thewlis road at night, because I knew within minutes the courtyard sensor light would flick on, the dogs would start barking and we would be embraced with a warm hug from you and a soft bed. You fostered my love for dogs and science from such a young age and I hope you and Grandad have Byron, Boris, Lady and Magnus curled up by your feet as you sit in your floral armchair sipping your favorite wine with the fireplace crackling away.

I miss you and wish I had spent more time with you, but I know you are still here in spirit watching over all of us.

Love always from your eldest grandson,

    Nathan xo
