Condolences / Guest Book

  1. Dear Liz I saw Graeme and Julia and they told me about Ray. I mentioned that you were both part of our Kids Hope Aus team and how loved Ray was by the children he mentored. I am sure he left a wonderful positive memory with them. I pray that you will know God’s love, care and protection at this time xx

  2. Dear Elizabeth
We are so sorry for the dreadful shock you’ve sustained at Uncle Ray’s sudden passing. It is a shock and great loss to us all; I will remember him always as a kind and gentle man (with a mischievous twinkle in his eye at times)!
We will be thinking of you and praying for you in your grief.
    Blessings,
    Alison & Mike Flynn

  4. Dear Elizabeth (and the rest of the family!).
I am so sorry for your loss. Grandpa was such a kind man, I am very pleased to have known him. It’s crazy to look back on all the photos and realize how quickly the years have passed by – if only we had lived closer so we could have spent more moments. I cherish those we did have.
We will be present “online” today (would have loved to be there in person) and continuing to think of you all.
In New Zealand we say “kia kaha” which means stay strong – this is such a difficult time for all, made more difficult by all of this isolation when instead, you would have been surrounded by all of our love.
Lots of love, Michael and Christina Sunderland

  5. Dear Liz and the whole Sunderland family,

We are deeply saddened by not only the news of Grandpa’s sudden passing, but also by the fact that we have been unable to get on a plane and be where we should be at this time.

I am greatful that my children (Grandpa’s Great Grandchildren) had the chance to meet and also have some memories to share between themselves. Albeit distance has its disadvantages and we would have loved to have been around more.

Thinking back to our last time with Grandpa, in January 2020, when travel was still a thing! I recall a few “dad jokes” that came out, what a good day we had! I feel lucky to have had that time.

All of our thoughts are with you all at this time, we will be there with you for the livestream, we hold everyone in our thoughts.

Liz, we hope that you are doing okay, and hope that these small gestures that we are able to do help to give you the support you need at this time.

  8. I would like the thank Darren for sharing the link to Ray’s funeral. It was so nice to be included, even though remotely, to be apart of Ray’s farewell. My heart goes out to all involved at this time and for the future. The photos of his life were great to seeand if it was so interesting to hear of his life path. I am a distant relative now but we are all still part of a greater family and it was lovely to share this. My condolences to all.

  9. We were neighbours of Evelyn and Gerald in Vermont for many years and obviously saw and heard more of Ray’s big bossy sister than of Ray himself. It was good to hear news of Ray from time to time through Evelyn. We enjoyed a Buxton Burger once or twice at the Igloo.
Our thoughts are with Elizabeth and Ray’s extended family and friends and especially with his loved twin Evelyn.
