  5. Hi Rosa. I was shocked and saddened on hearing of Phil’s passing. I immediately began thinking of those days at the Police Depot and the fun our squad had together with the main funny men and women keeping us entertained, Phil being up there with them. Also the fun times we had with wives/girlfriends being present and just enjoying ourselves laughing and enjoying ourselves when in each other’s company. I hope you can take some comfort in the words your receive from Phil’s old squad mates, remembering his laughter, joking and general upheaval we all created when Phil was around. Stay strong Rosa and remember the good times. Wish I could be there to say goodbye but certainly will be in spirit whilst watching the service. Best wishes, Ray Pooley

  8. We have so many fond memories of family gatherings and interesting conversations with Uncle Phil. He always had a story to tell and loved a chat. Once we were discussing our upcoming trip to Europe and Uncle Phil shared his own experiences of Europe. We laughed when he said, “There’s so much f@#king history in Europe. Every corner you walk around there’s more history.” He was right and we often quoted him when we walked around a corner and found more history. Uncle Phil was interesting, intelligent and we’ll miss conversing with him. Thank you for the stories, the laughs and the good times. Much love to Rosa. Xoxo

  10. To Rosa and family and friends. Can I please extend my sympathies and very best wishes to you at this time. Phil was a squad mate and good friend to me at a time when I was both new to this country and the early challenges of the Police Depot training. Phil nicknamed me Scotty (which amongst my then peers has remained to this day), and his humour, warmth, advice and encouragement steadied me with the very confidence to see me through. I shall always think kindly upon those days and the men and women of 15 squad and Phil will be a prominent figure within this memories.

    Vale Phil
