  2. My Australian Nana

I’ve been thinking about you lots over the past few days
I realise now that my very, very first memory was of you. I was probably about three, and we were sitting out side of my house
I remember feeling that something was amiss but whatever it was, your words assured me that I was safe and that everything would be okay
    And it was

Then the last time I saw you, I remember the last time just like I do the first. It was a lucky opportunity to come surprise you. I walked in, there you were coming out of the rec room. You had aged since I last saw you last, you brought a tear to my eye, a joyful tear, I felt lucky, so lucky. You showed me around then we sat in your room and looked out at the birds. I can’t remember what we talked about but again, like my very first memory, it felt so good just to be with you.

    Things I love about you:
    • Your smell, mixed mothballs with your perfume, this always reminds me of you
    • The way you dress, always looking smart in your pant suits
    • Your legs, gawd you have great legs (I am so grateful that I inherited these off you)
    • Your smile, you always had a cheeky happy grin
    • Your positiveness, you are always happy
    • Your giggle
    • Your ability to iron EVERYTHING
    • The blankets you crocheted for my children
    • The stories you told me about yourself and Pa
    • Your shiny sparkly kitchen sink (I inherited this too!)

I will treasure forever, all of the time I have had with you, I love you my Australian Nana
