Condolences / Guest Book

  1. My condolences to Jean, and to Malcolm’s children, and all who loved him. Mal & I enjoyed many conversations over the years. Psalm 37:29, John 5:28,29…

    Peter R. Kennedy
  2. We are deeply sadden to hear of Malcolm’s passing. He was a wonderful, caring person. He ritually sat at the school waiting everyday for Chantelle to come out, often catching a few zzz’s before they raced away from school. He would often tell Darren stories and catch up on the latest happenings when Darren popped around to do the lawns. May he rest now peacefully, knowing that he was loved by many and will be remembered always. Condolences to Jean and his children and grandchildren.

    Darren & Dee Jackson
  3. On behalf of the Marist-Sion College family, we pray…

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May Malcom rest in peace. Amen.

Janelle Burgess (Marist-Sion College, Deputy Principal-Pastoral Care)

    • Thinking of you at this time Jean and gorgeous Chantelle. I taught Chantelle at St Ita’s and l have fond memories of Mal her dad who was funny, quick witted and very encouraging towards Chantelle when she was at primary school. Yes he did fall asleep in the car line and now and again l would wake him up. .Much love to you both Jean and Chantelle. Rest in peace Mal

  9. From the start of the music in this service, I already felt Malcolm’s presence. Each song & word holds meaning to the man and those who have known him. What a blessing to hear his own words in poem.
We have wonderful memories of our time with Mal, Wendy, Shae & Nathan back when we lived in Gippsland. Always remember our holiday to Merimbula together, such a great fun time, where we got to see what loving parents Mal and Wendy were to their children.
We shared many fellowship events with Mal & Wendy through the Uniting Church where Mal gently showed his wisdom in discussions on life matters and the Christian faith. We had many thought-provoking conversations on many occasions which lead me to search further within.
Thankyou to his family for this wonderful final send-off that you have given and shared with all of us today. Your grief is clearly heard and felt through your thoughts and words that each of you have presented, not easy in these times. Watching the service from interstate, felt as though we were in the room. Precious album of photos of a person who found love in many ways.
Don’t give up you’re got the music in you.

  10. My condolences to Jean and his family, this was a wonderful farewell for my cousin Malcolm. I am sorry I was not able to be with you all today. He was my dearest cousin, when I was young, I was filled with excitement when we were going to visit them in South Melbourne or his Mum, Dad and Graeme were coming to visit us. Malcolm had great plans and ideas, not always safe but always exciting. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time (Covid didn’t help) but we could always share stories, laugh and sometimes shed a tear or too.
