with loving family by her side on
14.01.2021. Aged 93 years.
Loving wife of Doug (dec) who shared
27 years of happiness together.
Loved step-mother of David, Geoff,
Gary, Steve and their families.
Loved and remembered always.
A Funeral Service for

The world says goodbye to a very special lady who we will remember fondly in the years ahead.
She was a “one off” very opinionated and often outspoken and always spoke her mind. A trait that we loved and laughed about many times.
By being with Dad after he was widowed she probably extended his life by a good 15 – 20 years for which I will be eternally grateful.
Rest In Peace lovely lady!
I only met Lorna a few times when I travelled to Australia. I found her a lovely person. Lorna and Doug spent there golden years together and I know she would have missed him. One Christmas she sent me a card with a beautiful butterfly ornament for my fridge I loved it and its still there.

No longer in pain and free like a bird… We hope you had that lobster tail waiting up there for you! We will miss your stories about your younger years and the farm . Most of all we will miss your quick witted cheekiness. We cannot thank you enough for looking after our grandad.
You will be greatly missed by our family.

Fare thee well Lorna, God speed into the arms of beloved Doug. We visited you many times in Cranbourne and you always made us so very welcome. I loved the banter between you two, especially at Christmas when I would come over from Perth and make a few dozen mince pies for Doug, and your eyes were always alight with love for him. God bless you Lorna you will be greatly missed.

I’ll always remember fondly the stories you would tell, such as growing up on the farm with your animal friends and learning more about your years working the land. You were tough as nails, such a strong lady full of courage, determination and never afraid to speak your mind. You always welcomed us into your home and your homemade sausage rolls were amazing. You will be missed by us all. Thank you for caring for my grandad all those years, I’ll be forever grateful for that and all the happy moments we were able to share.

You came into Dads life when he was lonely sad and at a low ebb – you brought sunshine into his world and made him laugh and smile again and showed him life was worth living and for that we are eternally grateful.. Two people destined to meet late in life and bring love and happiness into each others hearts in their Golden Years – We never appreciated just how much love until I read some of his poems he had written to you. Some of those poems will accompany you on your journey . You both enjoyed life’s simple pleasures – especially a trip to Tooraddin to look at the sea – fish and chips on your lap. These are the little things we all have got to learn to appreciate again .
The Covid restrictions in retirement homes made life intolerable for your last year on earth buy now you are free. Free from rules. Free from pain Free from sickness

Happy memories of our first meeting with Lorna 28 years ago when we visited Australia.
You welcomed us into your home and introduced us to your friends and family.
We returned to England knowing that dad was loved and cared for by you.
Remembering also when you came to Chelmsford and we had the opportunity to spend time with you on our trip to Paris and the English Castle that you had always wanted to see.
Thankful that we had these happy times together. You will always be remembered with Love.
