  10. Jack was my first leader on the sporting field. He took the time to make sure a young kid was ok and treated me like I belonged. I have never forgotten those early years playing basketball with Jack in Wangaratta, as he helped shape my idea of what a good leader should be. I am grateful and sad at the same time, having never got to tell Jack of this influence.
My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the Trimble family for their loss.

  11. The brave and long fought battle is over and the disease won, but Jack is the victor because he will live on forever in our memories. We had so little time with Jack, but felt we had known him forever. He lived life large. He was easy to love and feel comfortable in his presence. We will always remember his exuberance for life and his love for Dani, Kobe, and Louis. Your American family shares in your grief, but we feel ever so blessed that we had the opportunity and privilege to know and love Jack.

  29. Jack will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have shared time with him. Jack always seemed to be ready with a smile and easy conversation. He lived big and loved big. I can’t pass by a bottle of Jack Daniels without recalling the look on his face when he spotted that big bottle of Jack Daniels he found at Costco so many years ago when I last saw you all in the U.S. – I don’t know why that memory has always made me laugh.
Sending you love from deep in the heart of Texas,

  37. To darling Jack,
One of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. He had nickname for everyone! He was a laugh a minute, but he also a very kind, supportive soul and just joy to be around. Always there with a joke or advice when you needed it. Would chat about anything, from footy, to basketball or the sort of life he wanted to create for Dan and his boys. The world is a poorer place without you, Jack. Never forgotten. Deepest sympathies to Dan, Kobe, Louie- and to the Trimble and Shannon families. Rest peacefully, Jacko.

  38. Dear Trimble Family,

We were so very sorry to hear the news about your dear Jack.

Dan – it’s so hard to imagine you facing life without your best mate. You two were the perfect Ying and Yang. Together, you were my sensible, old mates, like having a big brother and sister, that laughed at my youthful stupidity but helped me keep heading in the right direction. You welcomed me into your home when I needed it and I’ll never forget your kindness. I still laugh about the “butter incident” – Jacko was not thrilled with me and he let me know about it!

Boys – if I had to describe your Dad in a few words, I couldn’t do him justice. He was funny, loud, accepting and kind. He gave us all stupid nicknames that stuck. If Jack loved you, he did so with all his heart. I’m so sorry that he won’t be standing beside you as you navigate your way through being adults, but rest assured, he’ll be watching over you and if you turn out to be half the man I knew him to be, you’ll do just fine.

    Thinking of you all,

Anne-Maree and Corey Thomson and family.
