Condolences / Guest Book

  1. I celebrate you Grandma. What a life. What a human. Our Queen. The leader of our tribe.
Always offering love, support and straight up honesty, whether you liked it or not, to all that were lucky enough to be in your presence.

    9 kids, 26 grandkids, 12 great grandkids.
    Your legacy lives on.

What a way to go, in your own bed at home surrounded by your children and some grandchildren.
To take your last breath with your very own children blessing your soul and wishing you a safe journey to wherever it is we go when we leave our body.

You will always be a supportive and loving energy in my life.

I love you Grandma, may you rest in peace.

  2. All the thoughts and love to Irene and the wider Taylor family. Angela sends her love and said sadly tonight she misses Aelred, Irene and family despite being separated by thousands of miles. Angela feels she is now the last of that great generation.
Hope the funeral goes well and all the liver from the wider King clan to the Taylor clan. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Love
Edmund, Deirdre and wider King family

  3. Our extraordinary matriarch passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and care of her family who adored her. She closed her eyes for the final time and was folded in a loving embrace by the angels. Beloved wife of 69 years to Aelred (dec) and much-loved mother to John (dec), Anne, Sue, Frank, Helen, Chris, Gerard, Hilary and Catherine and their spouses. A grandmother of 26 and a great- grandmother of 12; she was always happiest when surrounded by her family. She had an exceptional soprano voice and loved to sing around the piano. Selfless to the end, she was an incredibly strong, resilient and skilful woman; her knitted garments are legendary. Thank you for all you have done for us and for the incredible legacy you have left behind. We are so proud to have called you mum. Reunited with dad at last. Rest in Peace. We love you.

    ‘Just keep loving each other.’

  4. Far away a voice is calling.
My sister Rene passed away in the presence of members of her loving and devoted family
I speak for myself and Eileen, cousins Jenny walsh, Bettina Larrod, Rosalind Gibb, Cedric and Peter Johnson when I send our heartfelt thanks for the love, care and devotion to all who helped their Mum’s last final days so much easier We will be eternally grateful.
Rene, as we always called her, was a remarkable person who would help anyone in need. Always with a smile and quick wit. As such we will remember her.
Rene will also be remembered by her peers in Loughborough, especially Pauline Hallam, who corresponded with Aelred over many years mainly when the history of the church, in which they were married 69 years ago, was queried. Their names have been entered in the Book of Rememberance at the Church of St Mary of the Annunciation in Loughborough.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

  7. Hi Helen

It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of Irene and pass our condolences on to you and your family.

I can still remember meeting your mum and dad on site during their house construction and it was an absolute mud pit. They showed wonderful faith in me being my first landscape project, fresh out of university and just completing a business management course. I am pretty sure I hand drew and coloured a landscape sketch plan of the proposed gardens and was often rewarded with ice-creams, jams and chutneys when completing the ongoing mowing and maintenance.

It has been a wonderful privilege to have met and get to know your mum and dad over the years.

    Warm regards

  8. Hi Helen
Thanks for the link. Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss and be kind enough to pass them on to the rest of the clan. Although it is many years since I’ve met your mother in person, I can never, or will never, forget her and the totally unselfish act of coming halfway round the world to care for my mother, leaving your dad and all of you behind for all those months. I know it was the kind of special person that she was. May she rest in peace in heaven.

  10. Where do I Start. Rene my super sister in law. Jim and I loved you so very much. When we came over to Australia in 1981 with 4 children. You and Aelred were our only family over here we stayed with you until we bought our first house in Mooroolbark. You were the best, you even got me my first job one week after arriving. You were such a strong person and still were right up to the end my love.
I love you still. And will love you for ever.
Rest In Peace sister and give Jim a hug for me.

Rene’s passing brings into focus a straightforward human decency and integrity but most of all an unstinting commitment and dedication to her family. Everyone in that family orbit and those touched by Rene’s kindness and decency can take inspiration strength and give thanks for Renée’s life so richly lived.
