We are sorry to hear of the passing of Simmo. So many memories growing up on the farm, he was always ready for a laugh and a beer. Condolences to Ian’s family. May he enjoy a beer with dad tonight and one of mums scones.
Deepest condolences to the family on the passing of Simmo
Just a few words and memories from mum and myself of our memories of Simmo
He was a great mate to Dad (Dexter Farr) and a true family friend. Dad would often refer to him as “Tassie Devil” as he was a true tornado in a huge hurry often with no real purpose.
Simmo was a dads farming “go to man” he was always there to lend a hand at the drop of a hat when dad needed it and enjoy a quiet beer or two afterwards. Whether it was Carting hay, un bogging the farm Ute, helping an injured cow, feeding the pigs or just having a quiet beer on his way past in his little yellow Ute.
I loved nothing more than standing at the bus stop (35 years ago) and seeing a tractor approaching in the distance
It was always great to see that big smiling face as I yelled UP YOURS SIMMO accompanied by THE BIRD
The reply “you’re a cheeky bugger Vaness” and a shake of his head with a huge chuckle as he putted on by on his way to the farm.
Honoured to watch the service and very touched to see the picture from his 50th of him holding the belt Craig and I gave him (a personalised belt with a harness horse buckle)
Every time I saw him he would lift his shirt to say “I love this belt Vaness”
Footy season won’t be the same anymore – I alway knew my phone would ring the minute the game was over (and sometimes before) if the dreaded Pies beat The mighty Cats. I will truly miss those calls.
Mum (Carol Farr) and our family would like to pass on our deepest condolences to the family in the passing of Simmo
Have a beer with Dad Simmo – you are truly missed by those who loved you.
Rest easy Simmo
cheers to you
up yours
Vaness …. the cheeky bugger !!!
