George Thomas Barker.
Passed away suddenly on 16th September, 2021.
Aged 72 years.
Dearly loved husband of Margaret (dec).
Loving father of Travis and Kim.
Fond father in law of Warren.
Cherished pa of Tahlia, Ellie and Liam.
Now reunited with Mum.
Forever in our hearts.

I wish I could see you one more time,
come walking through the door.
But I know that’s impossible,
I will hear your voice no more.

I hope we have the strength to
somehow get us through.
As we struggle with the heartache
that came when we lost you.

You worked so hard and we couldn’t slow you down.
Taken from us suddenly, but know your back
with mum makes it easier for us to carry on.

Kim, Travis, Warren, Tahlia, Ellie and Liam

  3. We are sad that our across the road neighbour, George will no longer be coming over for a chat, a coffee or helping with a handyman project. George told us many stories of his childhood growing up in Pakenham. He was meticulous and very proud of his workmanship and generous with his knowledge. Without doubt a very kind neighbour. He would often just run over the nature strip while he was mowing his of drop in some fresh eggs. He would sit on the front verandah and have a chat with Doug just to pass the time. We will miss the wave as he drove or walked by. George was passionate about cars and loved nothing more than “opening her up”. A true “never stopped working man” who adored and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. To Travis, Kim and Warren, Tahlia, Ellie and Liam, we send our love. See ya mate – Doug and Judy (Whyte)

Kim on a personal note I just wanted to tell you that I was talking to Andrew about George and he remembered him so fondly from all those years ago when working at van steensel timbers.
