  1. Dear Marji – I am so sorry to have this news and I didn’t know that Trevor had died also .I hadn’t heard anything since T went into hospital. What a difficult time for you.
I am so glad we met again when you and Dave came to England and we had lunch together.
Fond memories of you both as next door neighbours.
    Keep in touch.
Sending you my love and prayers
    Jean

    • Dear Jean, thank you so much for your note on the Condolences/Guest Book for my dear Dave. We’ve had a wonderful life together with no regrets. Apart from the asbestos illness Dave was rarely ill and had never been in hospital until Oct 2019 for hiatus hernia, which had to be done. Recovery was quick but as I said in my original note, it was such a shock losing Trevor. He had lost a foot 7 yrs previously at work, diabetic, but a very positive person with interests that kept him busy. He’d developed septocaemia soon after birth and we did not expect him to survive. It was a long road until at 4 he could have surgery and all was well for many years. He was a percussionist and motor car upholsterer, later a Harley rider for many years, has his own home, was married for around 8-9 yrs but they decided to go their own ways, no children. He was living with us at the time after a dreadful partnership break up (her) eventually able to purchase a home again in June of this year. That was not to be after spending one night there, he broke down and told us he had been diagnosed in Feb during another stay in hospital, with early onset dementia, but of course it was the CJD. Hence once in hospital this is the most dreadful disease and progresses rapidly until the coma sets in, so it was 26 days after admission our beautiful son passed to the next life. Poor Dave was by now very weak but tried to keep going for my sake but sadly I had to have him admitted for more care. Fortunately he was taken to a local hospital and passed away quietly with just me with him. I thank you so much for your thoughts. We often spoke of the wonder of where we live now and where we started out, they were lovely days really, just married and happy to have somewhere to live on our own and not sharing like so many. You were kind to me with a new baby and we both sort of chugged along without a lot as so many did. Stay well during this awful time. I will be in touch again. Love from Marj x x

    • Dear Pat, thank you so much for your note on the Condolences/Guest Book site for my dear Dave. We’ve had a wonderful life together with no regrets. Fortunately he was taken to a local hospital and passed away quietly with just me with him. I thank you so much for your note on this site, I did notice your Susan is now living in Tynong (I think) I saw her note on a page someone had opened after Trevors death. I was so pleased to know she was still around, wondering if you are still at No 24. Stuart was here to-day (20/12) and said No 26 had been rendered and probably being modernised. It was a tip last time we drove past in 2015 I think. You probably know we are in Pakenham now, moved out of Asp in 2007, moving around a bit with a big c’van until the Nov when we moved in to another new home. Been happier here than anywhere, close to shops, can walk across Cardinia Rd to Arena Centre even have x-rays & many other things done across the road. Dave was taken to Casey Hospital so 10 minute drive for me, so easy. Dave was in the new tower, single rooms, really lovely. He’d had enough of life with asbestosis, although we’d had a cruise to NZ in Nov 2019, the one before the volcano erupted. I organised a wheelchair to take on board, so we did outings in each port and caught up with long time friends in Tauranga, that was great. They were to visit us earlier in the year, but still no sign of that happening. Hoping you are keeping well with all this virus stuff. So glad you wrote on here, thanks so much. Have a good Christmas and an even better 2021. Love from Marj

    • Hello to you two gypsy’s – I have decided to answer the notes people have written on Dave’s Condolences page. Thank you both for the kind words and I must agree Dave did do very well and didn’t give in easy. He had literally run out of breath, angry each morning when he ‘woke up’ but it was soon to be over for him & he’s joined all the other angels & sharing all his jokes with them now. Love from Marj (20/12)

  4. Dave was such a wonderful friend. We enjoyed many happy times together on the road and we will never forget him.
We shared a common goal of living life to the full every day.
