  16. To the Rockman family, my heartfelt condolences. Almost 6 decades ago I watched Uncle Colin and his friends pimp up his Cortina with such finesse.

I know that he will have taken that finesse to all of the things he did in his life.

He was a father figure in my life and he had an impact that is immeasurable. Thank you for the honour of having known him and the family.

  18. Hi Aunty Mu. You would normally be the one sending messages of condolence to SA – so it is very difficult for the shoe to be on the other foot. We cannot imagine how terrible and bleak the world must be looking for all of you right now, and we pray for your strength during this difficult time. We know all too well how bereft you must feel. I am so glad that I recently managed to meet the uncle who left SA many years ago and I so wish that all of us here had the opportunity to get to know the warm, funny, proud, loving and kind person he was. I remember him as a young, handsome, long haired and very slim young man, driving a red sports car, (I think it was a Ford Capri) with Uncle George in the passenger seat, with music blaring from his speakers. The cassettes were as big as little packages with labels stuck on the front. They were so cool! As young as I was, I vividly remember the day your ship set sail for a better life in a new world – we were all so sad! Clinton, Keith, Lynne and their families are blessed to have been raised and loved by such a special man – he was a true gift. We know all too well that it will be difficult without him, and he will leave a gaping hole in your lives, but you have a great many epic and wonderful memories of him and the legacy he left behind. May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. With love from your nieces and nephew- Jacquie, Penny, Trady and Sita and all the spouses and children from the tip of South Africa. We love you!

Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy for your huge loss. Col touched all our hearts with his gentle nature, quirky sense of humour, his genuine interest in people and their achievements – no matter what they were.

Col was happy to share his knowledge and experiences, and also always open to learning more.

Above all, Col will always be remembered for his intense love of, and devotion to, his Family. He always spoke very fondly of them.

Col will be truly missed, but he has left many wonderful memories behind.
With tons of love from Angie, Greg and all our family.

  25. Col, a titan amongst men and a man who lived well and laughed often. A gentleman who has left his footprints in the sands of time and you will be remebered for all eternity. Mu and my cousins, I am so sorry for your loss and I will keep you inmy prayers. May your hearts find solace in remembering his light, laughter, and courage.
