  5. Uncle Chas, we were so lucky to have you in our lives. I was never able to meet any of my Grandfathers, but you definitely filled that void. You sent birthday cards every birthday, even when in our 30’s. You never forgot. I have fond memories of some of your cooking in the kitchen. Always up for cutting up a coleslaw or pineapple and it was always guaranteed that there was a pot of stewed apples on the stove for breaky or dessert. You are forever in all of our hearts. Rest In Peace with Aunty Betty. Lots of Love Jess

  6. Sincere condolences to Julie, Tony and all the Grandchildren, including my own Children and Grandchildren who fondly knew Charles as Poppy Chas. Charles and Betty opened their home and hearts to everyone. Charles was a man of integrity and was loved by everyone. I will never forget all the wonderful times we shared and some pretty eventful road trips to Red Rock. ( Betty’s map reading skills always seemed to get us lost finding that illusive shortcut). Rest in Peace Chas! You have quite a few people to catch up with on the other side including your love Betty and of course, Gary who was taken from you way too soon.
Goodbye for now my dear mate! You will be missed by many.

  7. I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a man I knew affectionately as Poppy Chaz.

It didn’t matter if he was in Melbourne, The Gold Coast or Thailand where he lived like a king, he always had that infectious smile on his face and just wanted to have a good time.

You will be missed Poppy Chaz. RIP

  8. My condolences and love to the ones Charles left behind. Jim has spoken me often and so lovingly about Chaz. Although I did not get to meet him, I am so grateful for a man who was like a father to beautiful Jim. Until just recently, we had calls where Jim spoke to Chaz about himself and some of their memories. I wish your family rest and healing after this day and a sincere hope to meet you some day soon. Loving wishes, Annette
