is something close to my heart, lyrics to the song for Andrea she was like a grandma to me.
Grandma’s hands clapped in church on Sunday morning
Grandma’s hands played a tambourine so well
Grandma’s hands used to issue out a warning
She’d say, “Billy don’t you run so fast
Might fall on a piece of glass
Might be snakes there in that grass,”
Grandma’s hands
Grandma’s hands sooth the local unwed mother
Grandma’s hands used to ache sometimes and swell
Grandma’s hands used to lift her face and tell her
She’d say, “Baby Grandma understands
That you really loved that man
Put yourself in Jesus’ hands.”
Grandma’s Hands
Grandma’s hands used to hand me piece of candy
Grandma’s hands picked me up each time I fell
Grandma’s hands, boy they really came in handy
She’d say, ” Mattie don’t you whip that boy
What you want to spank him for?
He didn’t drop no apple core,”
But I don’t have Grandma anymore
If I get to heaven I’ll look for
Grandma’s hands
I really enjoyed Andrea’s company – always such good conversation, great sense of humour, and full of interesting life stories.
My son, David, came with me to visit Andrea at her home before covid where she allowed us to have a good look at her e-type jag.
She was so generous in allowing us to sit in it and, for a moment, imagine how good it would be to drive!
Andrea was fun to play at our bowls group and will be missed terribly.
To the family of Andrea please except our Deepest Sympathy,
We have had the pleasure of knowing Andrea threw the Gembrook Indoor bowls, she was a kind and lovely Lady always with a smile and happy playing bowls, always talking about her life with her husband and her beautiful family.
She will be dearly missed,
rest in peace,
Our thoughts are with you.
We will miss you lovely lady
Dear David, Ian, Luke and families,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the sad passing of your loving, devoted mother whose family was everything to her.
I am sorry I didn’t know and was not able to pay my respects to a much admired work colleague and friend.
Sincerely, Sue Campbell ex Coomoora Secondary School.
