  2. Dear Carley and family.

Please accept my condolences and a few words below as I remember Allan Jobson.

I have very fond memories of visiting your beautiful home in Belgrave Hallam road way back in 1972.

I was just 12 years old at the time when my dad, the late Norman Savage, and I paid a visit to Allan after an afternoon of flying at the then D & DARCS club in Brady Road at the Dandenong Police Paddocks.

Dad and Allan were great modelling pals and shared a common work background as toolmakers.

My eyes were the size of dinner plates as I gazed around Allan’s fantastic workshop and I was also enthralled with your lovely corgis and the amazing kennel complex you had built. Those images are still vivid and with me to this day.

I was quite inspired by Allan’s toolmaking skill, his career at Nissan and my dad’s at GMH. At seventeen years of age I started my working life at GMH and I too became a toolmaker.

To Allan – “Jobo” – rest peacefully now, and fly up into the heavens where you can catch up with my dad…Norm.

With love from Rodney Savage and my mum, Pauline Savage now 92, sitting by my side as I write.
